Driving the Highways & Byways
of Arizona with Earle Robinson as he searches for Arizona Wild Life
*******************************************************
I just can't seem to stay away from the Grand Canyon.
I can remember the 1965 Robert Wise's song and movie
"The Sound of Music"
So I have decided to call this trip to the Grand Canyon
THE SOUNDS OF NUTCRACKERS
**********************************************************
Before I continue on, let me show you the spot I had picked out to do most of my shooting from on this trip.

This is looking back from the edge of the canyon.
OH, by the way, I didn't leave any trash behind, I brought snacks in the plastic sacks took it all back to my van when ever I left.

Note the dead branch dead center. I always try to be able to be in a position to photograph this just in case a bird would happen to land on it. They seem to love dead branches to perch on.
***********************************************

For just a few minutes the sun ducked under a cloud so
I hurried and put on a circular polarizer, and color enhancer filter
These made the colors deeper and much richer.
With out any filters it looked like this.

********************************************

I always try to get in a position to view a dead branch especially if it sticks out over the canyon's edge. The birds love to perch on these bare limbs as you will see in the up coming photos.
*****************************************
If I moved around here are a few other views of the canyon I had.

You can see the end or lens shade of my 500mm lens lower left corner.
