WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE
*******************************************

***********************************************************************
Approximately 6 inches head to tail. Upper bill black but the lower bill is usually an orangeish color at its base. Male and female a like.
Usally nest close to a streem. Photographed in Madera Canyon, Arizona 08/01/06 within 50 feet of a streem.
************************************************************
Inasmuch as I have never photographed this bird before nesting,
I did not know if both parents attended to the nest duties.
***************************
Quality photography was difficult because it was a dark cloudy rainy day.

As you can see they both do.
